The first involves Justice Pankaj Jain of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who made homophobic remarks in open court, sparking widespread condemnation. The second incident involves the Supreme Court criticising a judgment by the Calcutta High Court that advised adolescent girls to suppress their sexual urges.<\/p><p>Justice Jain\u2019s remarks, made in response to a case involving a same-sex couple, were not only offensive but also in stark contrast to the 2018 Supreme Court verdict that decriminalised homosexuality and affirmed the rights of the LGBT community.
