Upholding a \u20b945,000 monthly maintenance order, the Court emphasized that timely disbursal is not a favor but a legal obligation.<\/h6><p>In a strongly worded judgment, the Delhi High Court dismissed a husband&#8217;s plea challenging a family court&#8217;s order directing him to pay \u20b945,000 per month as maintenance to his wife and minor child. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma underlined that <strong>\u201cfinancial support delayed is dignity denied,\u201d<\/strong> asserting that even a single day\u2019s delay defeats the very purpose of maintenance.<\/p><p>The Court stated that maintenance is not merely a monetary duty, but a legal and moral responsibility aimed at preserving the dignity, stability, and security of the dependent spouse and child.
