Moreover, they face gender discrimination, violence, and social exclusion. These factors not only impact their well-being but also impede the overall growth and development of the country.<\/p><p>\u00a0Empowering rural women and providing them with equal opportunities is an essential step towards unlocking the nation\u2019s complete economic potential. In India, agriculture engages nearly 80% of rural women, and harnessing their potential can spark a transformative shift towards economic prosperity.<\/p><p>Both the central and state governments have initiated efforts to elevate the status of women in society by creating livelihood opportunities and paid employments. Various schemes, including the Prime Minister&#8217;s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), National Livelihoods Mission, Deen Dayal Upadhayay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Matr Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), among others, have made substantial contributions to gender parity and the socio-economic empowerment of women in India.<\/p><p>Nevertheless, despite these concerted efforts, challenges persist. Gender disparity, particularly in rural India, serves as a glaring reminder of the persistent issue of gender discrimination. Women continue to grapple with financial exclusion, limited educational opportunities, inadequate healthcare, and sanitation facilities, among other challenges.<\/p><p>Empowering rural women in India stands as a critical component for enhancing India&#8217;s growth narrative. It necessitates a comprehensive approach that addresses both economic participation opportunities and structural barriers to progress. Schemes like <\/strong>\u2018<strong>Nyay<\/strong>\u2019<strong>, the recent election promise of Rs 10,000\/- to the woman head of the family in Rajasthan by a leading political party, or the promise to pay for <\/strong>\u2018<strong>household work<\/strong>\u2019 <strong>to women by a political party led by Kamal Hasan are likely to create ripple effects capable of transforming India<\/strong>\u2019<strong>s growth story.<\/strong><\/p><p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 While India\u2019s economic growth shows promise, its full potential can only be realised by harnessing the power of its female workforce.
