I was married in Durban back in 2019, and you were the photographer for our wedding.” Now that I’m divorced, I’m wondering if it’s possible to obtain a refund for the photos
IN A surprising turn of events, a divorced woman from South Africa has attracted widespread attention after reaching out to her wedding photographer, Lance Romeo, seeking a refund four years after her marriage ended.
The incident unfolded when the unidentified woman contacted Romeo via WhatsApp bringing up their past association. In her message to Lance, she stated, “Hello Lance, I’m uncertain if you recall me, but I was married in Durban back in 2019, and you were the photographer for our wedding.” Now that I’m divorced, I’m wondering if it’s possible to obtain a refund for the photos.”
Romeo was taken aback and responded sympathetically, expressing his regrets about her divorce. However, he clarified that he couldn’t grant her request, explaining, “Once the photos have been delivered, refunds are not provided.”
The woman expressed her dissatisfaction with Romeo’s response, arguing, “But I have no use for the photos anymore. I’m divorced, and I’ll never look at them again.”
Romeo attempted to convey the nature of non refundable photography services, acknowledging her feelings. Despite Romeo’s explanations, the woman persisted in her argument, but the photographer maintained his stance, declining to make an exception. Frustrated, she finally conceded and stated that she would seek alternatives elsewhere.
In a surprising twist, Romeo shared screenshots of the conversation on Twitter, where it rapidly gained attention and sparked lively debates.
